Wisconsin Corn Annual Meeting to be held February 1

All Wisconsin corn growers are urged to attend the joint annual meetings of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association (WCGA), Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board (WCPB) and the Wisconsin Corn Foundation scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Kalahari Conference Center, Wisconsin Dells.

“Every corn grower in the state who sells corn in commercial channels-whether it is to the local coop, feed mill or ethanol plant-is part of Wisconsin’s corn checkoff,” says Ryan Ripp, Dane corn grower and WCPB President. Our annual meeting is a prime opportunity for us to share what Wisconsin Corn is currently doing to promote corn and increase corn grind.”

Corn growers will hear about national corn grower initiatives, as well as other state-funded programs.

Members of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association will hear updates on policy resolutions and vote for three open positions on the WCGA Board of Directors.  All seats are AT-LARGE positions and open to any member of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association. Each term is three years and members are allowed to serve 3 – three year terms.

If you are interested in running for the board or have questions about the duties of a Wisconsin Corn Grower board member, please contact Nicole or Brenda at 262.372.3289.

Scholarship winners will be announced as part of the Wisconsin Corn Foundation Meeting. Those winners will also be recognized during a portion of the Porkapoloza event later Thursday evening.

Wisconsin Corn will host a silent auction in conjunction with Corn●Soy Expo with proceeds of the auction going to either the Wisconsin Corn Foundation or the Wisconsin Corn PAC. You can choose who benefits from your auction donation. Contact the corn office for information on how to donate.

Admission to the annual meeting is free, however registration is required to attend other Corn●Soy Expo educational programs, events and the trade show held concurrently. Corn●Soy Expo registration information is available online at www.CornSoyExpo.org
