Membership and Program Manager

The Membership and Programs Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating various key membership and program initiatives crucial to the growth and health of Wisconsin Corn. This role serves as the staff lead on membership retention and engagement efforts, working closely with the Executive Director on new member development. The position involves significant external-facing outreach, communication, and customer service with existing members and new member prospects. Other key responsibilities include managing the membership database, supporting Wisconsin Corn’s outreach to key members, as well as providing program, sponsorship, and event support.

Specific Duties and Area of Responsibility

Membership Retention and Engagement: 

    • Develop and implement membership touchpoint processes that connect with and engage members throughout their annual membership cycle.
    • Develop and maintain membership templates (emails, letters, etc.) for use by staff for membership communication and outreach.
    • Support Wisconsin Corn members throughout the year, including scheduling and post-meeting action items.

New Member Sales: 

    • Serve as staff lead on developing and maintaining prospect lists and engaging staff in providing new member prospect ideas. Identifies prospects through Board member outreach, attending external events, and following local news and social media.
    • Develop and maintain, in partnership with the Executive Director, membership packet used for membership outreach and new member sales.
    • In partnership with the Wisconsin Corn Executive Director and Boards of Directors, identify high quality membership and sponsorship prospects and coordinate outreach meeting with  Wisconsin Corn leadership.
    • Invite membership prospects to Wisconsin Corn events, meetings, and engagement opportunities.

Database Management: 

    • Ensure the NCGA membership database is maintained with up-to-date membership information.
    • Explore new features and capabilities of the NCGA Membership software (NIMBLE) that enhance the membership experience. Serve as a resource for staff on database questions and requests.
    • Collaborate with staff to ensure key committees, lists, and groups are maintained and updated.

General Membership Support: 

    • Develop ideas and draft content that advance Wisconsin Corn membership efforts via the website, social media, and digital communications. Work in partnership with the Executive Director to implement.
    • Serve as staff lead on maintaining and updating list of member benefits and exploring new benefit programs that will enhance the Wisconsin Corn’s value to current and new members.
    • Plans and coordinates membership orientation sessions to engage new members in Wisconsin Corn and reconnect with existing members looking to better utilize their membership.

Event and Program Management 

    • Develop brochures, registration forms, signage, and other digital and promotional materials.
    • Identify opportunities for member programs and events.
    • Assist in the organization of the joint collaborative effort of Corn Soy Expo.
    • Maintain up-to-date event and program information on the website.
    • Attend events and programs whenever possible to capture photos and provide onsite support.
    • Proactively engage with members to secure sponsors and attendees for events and programs.
    • Work with the Executive Director on the planning of events by collecting contracts and assisting with the detail and event materials.

General Administration 

    • Provide support to Wisconsin Corn as needed.
    • All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications 

    • Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment from our Watertown Wisconsin office
    • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, with some heavy travel from January – March
    • Degree in agriculture, business, communications or comparable work experience
    • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently on multiple projects and deadlines
    • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), as well as an ability to learn new software programs
    • Experience with WordPress, Nimble, Salesforce, Canva and Constant Contact is a plus
    • Corn or other agriculture background and knowledge desired, but not required
    • Valid drivers’ license required
