Watertown, Wis. [September 16, 2026] – The U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry reconvened today and advanced the Agricultural Act out of committee with a 12-11 vote. Commonly referred to as “Farm Bill 2.0,” the legislation includes several policy priorities important to corn growers, including language that would authorize the year-round sale of gasoline blended with 15% ethanol, commonly known as E15.
In response to this vote, Wautoma farmer and Wisconsin Corn Growers Association (WCGA) President Paul Jarvis released the following statement:
“We thank the leaders of the Senate Agriculture Committee for continuing to move this important piece of legislation through the legislative process. As input costs for this growing season continue to increase and future uncertainties factor into our farming decisions, we are optimistic that many of our priorities, such as year-round E15, are at the forefront of discussions on this legislation.”
“Advancing this legislation out of committee is an important step forward for farmers, but there is still work to be done. We encourage the full Senate to take bipartisan action to provide certainty by voting to pass this legislation. Farmers and rural communities need certainty, and we encourage Congress to keep moving this legislation toward the finish line.”
