Wisconsin Corn Growers Association Joins More Than 250 Agriculture Organizations Urging Senate Action on Farm Bill

Watertown, Wis. [August 6, 2026] – Wisconsin Corn Growers Association is joining more than 250 national food and agriculture organizations in calling on the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry to advance a bipartisan farm bill and move the Agricultural Act of 2026 out of committee today.

With rising input costs, looming market uncertainty, and evolving challenges, farmers facing extreme economic pressure need long-term policy solutions within an updated farm bill, instead of temporary extensions and ad hoc assistance. The letter, coordinated by the American Farm Bureau Federation, highlights the urgent need for a modern, five-year farm bill after nearly a decade without updated farm policy.

“This is the furthest we have gotten to a full, modernized farm bill. U.S. food and agriculture, as well as American families who rely upon the food, fiber, and fuel produced from our country’s farmers, ranchers, growers, and producers, deserve a farm bill now,” the letter states.

“Importantly, if the Senate Agriculture Committee fails to advance this farm bill out of committee, America’s agricultural producers and consumers will go another year without the certainty and support of an updated farm bill. As such, we strongly encourage Members of the Senate Agriculture Committee to advance the Agricultural Act of 2026 out of committee this week in a bipartisan manner.”
