Wisconsin Corn welcomes international trade team

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Corn Program recently hosted a delegation of over a dozen industry and government officials from four countries on a two-day tour following the U.S. Grains Council’s Global Ethanol Summit in Washington, D.C.

The Summit highlighted the benefits of expanded global use of ethanol, with attendees from more than 60 countries participating.

The Wisconsin delegation, which included representatives from Brazil, Honduras, Korea and Uruguay, enjoyed presentations by representatives from Hughes Farms and Roger Rebout & Sons Farms, as well as tours of a Kwik Trip blending facility and retail fuel station, Hartmann Farms and United Wisconsin Grain Producers (UWGP).

“We are always proud to share Wisconsin’s rich agricultural history and practices with trade teams from around the world,” says Doug Rebout, Wisconsin Corn Growers Association President. “Developing these relationships and sharing our passion for this industry are an important part of what our team at WCGA does. Trade is critical to our members’ livelihoods and we are continually looking for ways to create and expand partnerships.”

Wisconsin Corn serves the state’s corn growers through the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board (WCPB) and Wisconsin Corn Growers Association (WCGA). The WCPB utilizes checkoff funds to develop and defend markets, fund research and provide education about corn and corn products. WCGA is a united, grassroots-driven member organization representing growers from across Wisconsin on important state and national agricultural issues in an effort to increase member profitability and opportunity.
