DESCRIPTION:From March 15–18\, Wisconsin Corn will join grower leaders from the Illinois\, Tennessee\, Kentucky\, and Michigan Corn Growers Associations in Washington\, D.C.\, for a joint fly-in focused on advocating for corn farmers and strengthening relationships with policymakers and key agricultural partners. \nThroughout the week\, growers and staff will participate in a series of meetings on Capitol Hill with members of Congress and their staff\, ensuring that the voices of corn growers are heard directly in federal policy discussions. These conversations will focus on the challenges facing farmers today—including tight margins\, rising input costs\, and the need for strong markets for corn through biofuels\, exports\, and domestic demand. \nIn addition to Hill visits\, the coalition will also meet with several national agricultural and policy organizations. These meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss the broader policy landscape\, learn how partner organizations communicate and advocate on behalf of agriculture\, and coordinate messaging around shared priorities impacting corn growers. \nBringing multiple state corn organizations together for a joint fly-in will amplify the voice of farmers and highlight the importance of corn production across the country. By working together\, the group will be able to share regional perspectives while presenting a unified message about the policies needed to support corn growers and rural communities. \nThe week will also allow growers to strengthen relationships not only with policymakers but with fellow farmer leaders from across the Midwest. These partnerships will continue to play an important role in advancing policies that protect farmers’ ability to grow\, innovate\, and compete in an increasingly complex agricultural economy. \nWisconsin Corn will remain committed to ensuring that the concerns and priorities of Wisconsin farmers are represented in Washington\, and opportunities like this joint fly-in will help keep growers at the table where decisions are made.
