February 1, 2018 - February 2, 2018

Registration is now open for this winter’s Wisconsin Corn/Soy Expo at the Kalahari Resort and Conference center and can be accessed, along with a program schedule, at the Corn/Soy Expo website.

Corn/Soy Expo will run Thursday, February 1, through Friday, February 2, 2018.

General Sessions planned for this winter’s meeting feature Chip Flory, host of Market Rally radio at Pro Farmer and Barry Flinchbaugh, agricultural economist and policy analyst. Academy-Award winning filmmaker Scott Hamilton Kennedy will recount the making of his pro-genetic engineering documentary, Food Evolution, and reaction he’s received from groups on both sides of the issue during a luncheon Feb. 2. Attendees can view the film Food Evolution during afternoon breakout sessions the first day of Corn/Soy Expo.

The two-day event starts with an Early Riser Session on dynamic hedging, from James Schroeder from Equity Cooperative Livestock Association and includes a large industry trade show. Educational sessions on a variety of crop production and management issues run the first afternoon. UW-Extension Agricultural Economist Paul Mitchell, Ph.D., discusses farm markets and programs at Friday’s Early Riser Session and an agronomic session with Shawn Conley, Ph.D., UW-Extension and Jodi DeJong-Hughes, Extension Educator for the University of Minnesota, round out the event Friday afternoon.

Annual meetings of state soybean, corn and pork groups take place at noon, Thursday Feb. 1 and Wisconsin Pork Association holds sessions concurrently throughout Corn/Soy Expo. While the association annual meetings are free, open to the public and no advance registration is required, admission to most other meetings and admission to the trade show require payment of a registration fee.

Members of the Wisconsin Soybean Association and the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association save substantially on registration to the 2-day event, which includes free admission to the annual Wisconsin Pork Association Taste of Elegance, morning coffee & rolls, two lunches, breaks, an evening reception, trade show and all programs.
